Medford, OR: July 20, 2013. The Gems were swept by the Rogues this weekend as Medford smashed 16 hits and defeated the Gems 8-2 on Sunday afternoon at Harry and David Field in Medford, OR. The Klamath Falls Gems fall to fifth place in the South Division with their third straight loss.
Cam Newell (UC Santa Barbara) hit his first home run of the year in the loss for the Gems as they managed only five hits on the night as relief pitcher John Forsythe (UC Riverside) picked up the Rogues win in relief, improving to 3-0 on the year. Skye Adams (Central Washington University) took the loss for the Gems, falling to 4-2 overall in 2013. The Gems record falls to 17-20 on the year and Medford improved to 20-19 as they win four of six season games against the Gems.
