Medford Rogues News Release

MEDFORD, OR - The Medford Rogues today announced additions to the 2014 coaching staff and roster. Joining the Rogues coaching staff is Ashland native Max Gordon, and to the roster, left handed pitcher Jon Reid of Pepperdine University. Gordon will be joining the Rogues coaching staff as Baseball Operations Manager after finishing his playing career for the Oregon State Beavers. Gordon lettered three years for the beavers, capped off by an extended playoff run to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska last season.

"I am extremely grateful for the opportunity I have been given by the Rogues," Gordon said. "I think this will be an exciting and fun summer for myself, the Rogues, and the southern Oregon baseball community as well as its fans. I can't wait to get started and help in bringing home the hardware to southern Oregon."

As a senior, Gordon played in 50 games for the Oregon State Baseball team. Helping them reach the College World Series for the first time since winning it in 2007. Before playing for the Beavers, Gordon lettered three years in center field for head coach Don Senestraro at Ashland High School. He earned all-state in baseball and lettered one season in football, where he was an all-conference linebacker for the Grizzlies. During the summer of 2009, he went on to help the Medford Mustangs earn second place in the American Legion World Series.

"Max is a great addition to our staff and we're lucky to have him aboard," Rogues General Manager Chuck Heeman said. "He'll be an assistant coach on the field and also take care of a lot of our player-related administrative work off the field. He knows and can identify the local talent we may be able to tap into and he knows the game. Max will do a great job for us and we're happy he's a Rogue."
