Bloomington Extreme News Release
BLOOMINGTON (Ill.) - Bart Rogers, president and chief executive office of the Peoria Rivermen since 2005, was named chief administrative officer for Central Illinois Arena Management, it was announced Tuesday.
Along with his duties for CIAM, the management group that runs the U.S. Cellular Coliseum for the City of Bloomington, Rogers also will assume the duties of president and general manager of the Bloomington Extreme indoor football team.
"I've known Bart for a long time and know what he brings to an organization," said Mike Nelson, co-owner of CIAM with John Butler. "He is a talent individual and understands what we want to accomplish at U.S. Cellular Coliseum and with the Extreme."
Rogers, a native of Hamilton (Ill.) who now resides in Morton with his wife, Kris, and daughters, Hannah (9) and Elle (5), worked in the Rivermen organization with Nelson and Butler.
He was one of the longest-tenured employees in the Rivermen organization. He started with the team in 1992 as a marketing/public relations intern. He became a full-time employee as the team's director of merchandise and game operations in 1993.
Rogers advanced to the position of assistant general manager in 1998 and general manager in 2000. He was promoted to president and general manager three years later before becoming the president and chief executive office in 2005.
He also managed the Rivermen's corporate partnerships with major sponsors such as Caterpillar, Par-A-Dice Hotel & Casino, OSF-St. Francis Medical Center, the Orthopedic Institute of Illinois, CEFCU and Anheuser-Busch.
Rogers was named the Marketing Director of the Year twice when the Rivermen competed in the ECHL.
His duties as president and general manager of the Extreme indoor football team fill positions that became vacant at the beginning of the season when Jerry McBurney was moved solely to the general manager duties of the Bloomington PrairieThunder hockey team.
Rogers has a Bachelor of Arts degree in recreation sports administration from Western Illinois University.
