Rogers Communications and Oshawa Power Join Forces for Rogers Slam Dunk Day
January 10, 2012 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Mississauga Power News Release
(OSHAWA, ON) Oshawa basketball fans scored big today when Rogers Communications announced a one-year, premier title sponsorship agreement with the Oshawa Power of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL).
One of Rogers' first plays as the new title sponsor of the Power is to provide Durham Region residents with 6,000 complimentary tickets to Rogers Slam Dunk Day. On January 26, 2012 basketball fans can witness all the excitement as the Oshawa Power take on the Saint John Mill Rats in the only home game in January at General Motors Centre.
The sponsorship agreement gives Rogers the opportunity to support the Power's community involvement at schools, basketball camps and store locations in addition to game execution opportunities including Rogers contesting, Rogers Zone and brand recognition, resulting in more excitement at home games for fans and players of the NBL.
"We are most grateful to Rogers for their tremendous support in our inaugural year," said Gary Durrant, President of Operations, Oshawa Power. "This partnership gives everyone from Durham Region and surrounding areas a chance to support our team."
Coupons will be distributed for the Rogers Slam Dunk Day to minor league basketball players, the Boys and Girls Club and other not-for-profit organizations in the Durham Region area, courtesy of Rogers to be redeemed for tickets at the GM Centre box office.
Basketball fans can also pick up their complimentary coupons for tickets at select Rogers locations in Oshawa and surrounding areas as well as the GM Centre box office.
Next up for the Power is an away game Thursday January 12 against the Summerside Storm at the Consolidated Credit Union Place. Game time is 6 p.m. EST.
