Rodriguez Named Top First Baseman

SAN ANGELO, Texas---In honor of the ten year anniversary of San Angelo Colts baseball, we wanted to know who the fans considered the best at each position. We started at first base. In a landslide, with nearly 69 percent of the vote, Andres Rodriguez was named as the top player at the position.
In his two brilliant seasons with the Colts, Rodriguez, the fan favorite hit .344 with 34 homers and 160 RBI in 178 games. Last season, the first baseman drove in 107 runs in 83 contests.
Rodriguez was dubbed "A-Rod Jr." by his former teammates, which included current Mets infielders Jose Reyes and David Wright. The infielder spent seven years in the Mets organization before making his way to Texas.
