(Toronto, Ontario) â Wednesday January 29, 2003 â This afternoon the National Lacrosse League announced the top players for Week #5. The Toronto Rock are pleased to announce that Blaine Manning was awarded Offensive Player of the Week, while Aaron Wilson was named Rookie of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Blaine Manning (Toronto) scored five goals and added eight assists (5g, 8a, 13 pts) as the Rock defeated the Buffalo Bandits 17-13. Manning scored two goals, and added an assist (2g, 1a, 3 pts) in a 15-6 win over the Ottawa Rebel.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Aaron Wilson (Toronto) scored two goals, and added two assists (2g, 2a, 4 pts) as the Toronto Rock defeated the Buffalo Bandits 17-13.
This was the third and fourth player to be awarded this season following the foot steps of Steve Toll who was awarded during week #2 and Patrick Merrill was awarded during week #4.
