
Rockies drill Raptors to take series

On Saturday night the Casper Rockies made sure they won their three-game series with the Ogden Raptors, winning 12-1. Casper scored three runs in the 3rd 4th and 5th innings. They would later add one in the 7th and two more in the 8th. With the win, the Rockies are now tied with Ogden for first place.
Chris Cook returned to the Rockies lineup and bombed his sixth home run of 2005, a two-run shot. Later Rockies catcher Steven Suarez hit a three-run blast in the 5th inning.
Lead-off man Corey Wimberly led the Rockies 13 hit attack going 4-6 with two RBI's and two stolen bases. Casper tagged Ogden starter Mario Alvarez for nine runs in 4.2 innings.
Casper starter Chaz Roe was sharp once again. Roe worked six innings, allowing just four hits and a run while striking out eight for the win.
Casper hosts Orem for three-game beginning with Sunday's 4:05 contest. Alan Johnson gets the starting nod for the 5-2 Rockies.
