September 10, 2009 - Texas League (TL1)
Midland RockHounds News Release
The RockHounds fought against the rain and the Missions on Wednesday night in San Antonio and came away with a dramatic 1-0 win in 11 innings. Josh Donaldson drove in Josh Horton with two outs in the top of the 11th and Jared Lansford coaxed the Missions clean up hitter (Craig Cooper) into a game ending double play to secure the game one victory.
Game two is scheduled for tonight at Nelson Wolff Stadium in San Antonio, with Travis Banwart taking the mound for the RockHounds against Will Inman of the Missions. Banwart is just 3-2 with a 6.14 ERA in seven starts against the Missions this season, while Inman is in his third season at the Double-A level (was 2nd in all of the minor league with 180 strikeouts in 2007) and made just one start against the Hounds on May 2nd this season (five innings pitched, while allowing just one run on two hits).
The teams will once again battle against mother nature, as 1-3 inches of rain has been forcasted for the San Antonio area today.
The RockHounds return to Citibank Ballpark on Friday night for Game 3 of the best of five divisional series. Tickets are available online, at the Citibank Ballpark box office or by calling (432) 520-2255. All fountain sodas and draft beers are half price on Friday!
