Rockford Rumbles by Mammoths

The Rockford RiverHawks (6-6) wrapped up their three-game road trip with a 4-3 victory over the Kenosha Mammoths. Frank James tossed eight strong innings and Justin Dowdy picked up his second save on the season. James (2-0) gave up three runs and scattered six hits, while striking out three. Rockford scored first on a Bobby Matthews single in the second inning. Dan Leathers then tied the scored in the third on a RBI double. The RiverHawks took the lead on a Ben Fjelland two-run single in the fifth and added an insurance run in the seventh. Ray Goirigolzarri hit a two-run homer in the eighth for Kenosha.

The RiverHawks will be back at home tomorrow night, June 6, against River City at 7:05 p.m. It will be RiverHawk T-shirt giveaway thanks to Guerilla Graffix. On Saturday, it will be Koozie giveaway sponsored by Axberg Heating, 96.7 WKMQ, and Continental Coupons. The Mayberry Deputy will be at Marinelli Field on Sunday thanks to Fox-39 and WQFL.
