Rocket Select 9 Players in 2010 QMJHL Entry Draft in Drummondville

The PEI Rocket capped off a successful week in Drummondville by selecting 9 players in the 2010 QMJHL Entry Draft. The Rocket had three early picks and selected two forwards and a goaltender. Left Winger Victor Provencher, from College Charles-Lemoyne was selected 11th overall and teammate Louic Marcotte, a right winger, was selected 15th overall. The Rocket then used the 20th overall selection to draft goaltender Maxime Legace from Seminaire St. Francois in Quebec.

The Rocket then selected Greg Jansz (LW) of the Dartmouth Subways and Francois Xavier-Payette (RD) of College Charles-Lemoyne in the 7th round.

The ninth round selection for the Rocket was Defenseman Ryan Moore from the Cape Breton Tradesman. The 10th Round selection was local product, Brandon Weir, who played Left Wing with the Charlottetown Island Major Midget Islanders. The 11th round selection was Defenseman, Cal Gloade from Pictou County Midget AAA, and the final Rocket selection was another local, Matt Stead who played last season with Cornwall Thunder Major Midget.

"The Rocket are extremely pleased with the prospects we were able to draft this year", said President and Governor, Serge Savard Jr. "Without a doubt, the changes we have made through trades and our draft selections will make it an exciting year for the Rocket.
