Rocket Announce New PEI Scout
November 17, 2011 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
P.E.I. Rocket News Release
The commitment to build from within the PEI Rocket organization with an emphasis on developing young talent to foster a winning team continues. As part of this plan, the Rocket have hired a new scout for Prince Edward Island. Trevor Birt has joined the team in that capacity and the team's President and Governor, Serge Savard Jr., is pleased with the new addition. He says, "We are pleased to have Trevor on board as our new PEI scout. We are making a concerted effort to better identify talent on PEI and all over Canada as a whole, and we like what Trevor brings to the table. He's a former Junior A hockey player that played the game with passion and he has a very good read on people on and off the ice. Everyone in the organization is committed to going the extra mile to build a winning team here for our fans of PEI and Trevor fits this mould nicely. In a very short time with us, he has already spent many hours in the rink and he's done additional research elsewhere, as all our scouts have. This is an exciting weekend for us as the entire scouting staff meets at The Monctonian Midget Hockey Tournament to discuss our identified players to date. We look forward to good things ahead."
Trevor is as a police officer with the City of Summerside and lives in Covehead with his wife, Suzanne, and daughter, Jesse.
