
Rockers Lose First Game of Series Against Fond du Lac

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. - In the second road game of the season, Green Bay lost to Fond Du Lac by a score of 13-3. The Dock Spiders improve to 2-3 while the Rockers move to 1-4.
The scoring opened in the bottom of the second, with a fielder's choice and sacrifice fly getting the spiders out to a 2-0 lead. Green Bay responded quickly with a Seth Farni (Ole Miss) double, and a sac fly from Corey Boyette (Lipscomb) to score the first Rockers run. Then in his debut, Jake Bold (Princeton) smashed a bomb to left field for his first home run of the season.
From there, the Dock Spiders went on an 11-1 run in the next six innings. The only Rockers score coming in the top of the sixth when Jackson Kline (Kansas) scored on a hit from Sam Miller (Columbia) which went down as an error by Fond Du Lac's third baseman.
Two Rocker's made their debut on the mound. Jake Toporek (Wagner College) came into relieve starter Mack Crowley (Minnesota State-Mankato) at the start of the fourth inning. Also in a Rocker's uniform for the first time was Kyle Dobyns (Hawaii). The two pitched a combined four innings, striking out four and allowing seven hits.
Tomorrow, the Rocker's return to Fond Du Lac for the second game in the series. Lefty Lleyton Grubich (McHenry County College). In his last outing, Grubich threw six innings, striking out 12 batters and only allowing one hit. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
The next home contest at Capital Credit Union Park will be Sunday, June 2 nd . Gates open at noon for the live pregame concert featuring Acoustic Endorphins and the first pitch is slated for 1:05. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a 2023 Championship Rhodie bobblehead and the team is also offering post-game catch on the field, with the team giving out Rockers logoed baseballs for fans to use curtesy of Capital Credit Union.

The Rockers front office and Team Apparel Fan Shop at Capital Credit Union Park are located at 2231 Holmgren Way in Ashwaubenon. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm and all game days from 8:30am through the end of the 3rd inning.
