(Toronto, Ontario) – Monday February 10, 2003 – Embracing the athletes oath, "Let me win, but if I cannot, let me be brave in the attempt", the Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club is going to put their best foot forward in attempt to support Special Olympics.

This morning the Toronto Rock and the Ontario Special Olympics announced a partnership intended to promote and support a very worthy cause. The lacrosse team has decided to spearhead a fundraising initiative that will help raise funds in support of Special Olympics Athletes.

The team will donate one dollar per ticket sold to their February 28th home game against former Rock player Kaleb Toth and his Calgary Roughnecks. Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment have matched the Rock contributions.

"Special Olympics is a tremendously worthy cause where athletes with a mental disability have the opportunity to experience and succeed in sport. Special Olympics is more than event, it's an organization dedicated to leveling the playing field and we want to help." said Rock Vice President, Bryan Black.

The Rock is also organizing a silent auction that will take place on the concourse of the ACC. The auction will include the Rock's game worn third jerseys (which have yet to be unveiled) and a number of NLL autographed jerseys, all proceeds will go to the Special Olympics.

NOTE: The Rock is offering special ticket pricing in conjunction with the charitable game. The March Break Family Pack includes 2 adult tickets and 2 youth tickets for $40.00.
