Toronto Rock News Release
Oakville, ON - Toronto Rock Owner, President & GM Jamie Dawick announced today the signing of Mark Farthing to a 1-year contract. The 26-year old defender will be attending his second Toronto Rock training camp after being a part of the 2012 season's training camp.
"Mark is a guy we really like," said Dawick. "He has a lot of experience at the Senior A level with the Peterborough Lakers and he's won a championship with them."
The steady defender was a member of the Lakers in 2012 when they last captured the Mann Cup Canadian Senior "A" championship. Prior to that, Farthing played his Junior A lacrosse for his hometown Peterborough Lakers.
Farthing signed with the New England Black Wolves late in the 2015 season and spent the remainder of the season on their practice roster. On August 1st, Farthing became an unrestricted free agent.
The NLL Draft is just around the corner. On September 28th, teams will gather at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville to select the next group of NLL stars. A day prior, teams will have the opportunity to evaluate draft prospects and free agents at the NLL Combine, also at the TRAC.
