February 27, 2004 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Toronto Rock News Release

Toronto, ON – Tonight will mark the second meeting of the Rock and the Wings this season. It will also mark the third annual Charity Classic in support of the Ontario Special Olympics. The Rock will unveil another unique set of third jerseys in front of an expected 16,000 fans. As in past years, the jerseys will be auctioned off in a silent auction through the first half of the game. The jerseys will be signed by the players and awarded on the floor at the end of the game. All the proceeds from the auction, plus $1 from every ticket sold will be donated to the Ontario Special Olympics. Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment will also match the $1 donation from every ticket.

Fans will also be able to support the Canadian Cancer Society by coming out to the game on Friday. A special group of little girls have spearheaded a project called "Lisa's Beads". The girls began making bracelets when their mother/aunt was taken by cancer. Spencer, Taylor, Shannon and Hannah will all be at Gate 5/6 selling Lisa's Beads to raise money for an initiative called "Les' Fund". The fund, in name of Les Bartley, was started Jarrett Harris. Harris has campaigned to have 5 other NLL fan clubs join in the fight against cancer by selling Lisa's Beads in each of their respective cities.
