Toronto Rock News Release
(Toronto, Ontario) â Friday March 28, 2003 â With a two-week break in NLL action for the Toronto Rock, the team has decided to open their annual skills competition to the general public for the first time. Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario will host the Toronto Rock Skills competition on Thursday April 3rd, 2003 at 7:30p.m.
There is no admission charge for fans but it is recommended that they bring non-perishable food items that will be donated to the local food bank. The Toronto Rock players will face-off against their teammates in a head-to-head skills competition that includes hardest shot, most accurate shot and fastest player.
"We run this event every season as a enjoyable, light practice with our players. We usually schedule it during a break in our schedule but have been unable to invite fans due to our past practice facilities. It's great to finally be able to invite fans because it is a very entertaining night, you get to see the guys in a different light" said Head Coach Les Bartley.
Seating will be general admission based on a first come, first serve basis.
