Vermont Wild News Release

Morrisville, VT August 15, 2011 - The Green Mountain Rock Crushers of the Federal Hockey League are pleased to announce the signing of 28 year old goaltender Jean-Francois Racine. Racine was a third round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, 90th overall, and appeared in 92 AHL games with the St. John's Maple Leafs and Toronto Marlies.

The 6' 3" 190 pound native of Roxton Falls, Quebec appeared in 156 games with the Drummondville Voltiguers and Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, compiling a 73-65-7-7 record with a 3.28 Goals Against Average. Racine posted a 45-31-1-5 record, a 3.11 GAA and 5 shutouts in the AHL and a 46-25-6 record in 84 games with the Memphis Riverkings of the CHL.

"We are very fortunate to add another player of this pedigree and experience to the Rock Crushers' roster," said general manager/director of hockey operations, Andy Makal. "JF's experience and approach give us a chance to win every night. A guy with his character and experience sets the tone for the whole team."

The Rock Crushers also added goaltenders Anthony Luckow and John Dorman to their training camp roster. Luckow spent last season splitting time between the AAHL and FHL after a solid collegiate career at Utica College. The Shelby Township, Michigan native appeared in 8 games with the FHL's Rome Frenzy after the demise of the AAHL and comes to Vermont hungry to build on his pro experience. The towering Dorman, 6' 5" 210 pounds, joined the Evansville Icemen as a rookie in 2009-10 and promptly carried them to the Davidson Cup championship. Like Luckow, he spent time in both the AAHL and FHL last season, appearing in 3 games with the Brooklyn Aviators.

Makal added, "We believe that you have to build a team on a solid foundation, and that means great goaltending. These guys give us one of the best goaltending rotations in the FHL. Our fans deserve players of this caliber and we won't disappoint them."

Training camp opens on Oct. 14. The Rock Crushers kick off their inaugural season on Oct. 28 with a home-and-home series against the defending FHL champion Akwesasne Warriors.

The FHL will play 53-game schedule, including five games at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine, the former home of the Lewiston MAINEiacs of Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. For more information, check out www.themaineevent.us, a website devoted to FHL games played at the Colisee.
