Rock Cats Receive Twins OF on MLB Rehab

New Britain, CT- The New Britain Rock Cats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, will have a Major League player in its lineup this weekend as Outfielder Aaron Hicks has joined the club on a Major League Rehabilitation Assignment as he recovers from a shoulder injury.

Hicks, 24, joined the Rock Cats yesterday on their current road trip in Harrisburg, PA and he is expected to play this weekend against the Reading Fightin Phils (Philadelphia-NL) at New Britain Stadium. Hicks has been out since June 10 with a right shoulder strain. He is batting .198 with one home run, 9 RBI and scored 16 runs with the Twins this season. This is his second season in the Major Leagues.

The former first round selection (14th overall) of the Twins in 2008, played for the Rock Cats in 2012. He had a tremendous season batting .286 with 21 doubles, 11 triples, 13 home runs, 61 RBI and 32 stolen bases for the Rock Cats.

The Rock Cats return to New Britain Stadium tomorrow (Friday, June 20) and will host Reading at 6:35 PM. The Rock Cats will play Reading over the weekend and then the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh-NL) will come to town, Monday through Wednesday.
