The NLL Expansion Draft will consist of nine rounds with the first selection going to the new Portland team (won by virtue of a coin flip at the Board of Governors meetings earlier this month). Each team submitted its protected player lists to the league office and had the option of protecting either 13 runners and one goaltender or 10 runners and two goaltenders. The Edmonton Rush will select second in the NLL Expansion Draft. Any unprotected players are available for pick up by either team, but no team may lose more than two players in the draft. Once a player is selected from a team, the squad losing the player may protect another player who was previously unprotected.
