CARRYOVER: The Rochester Red Wings today conclude their 8-game roadtrip with the finale of a 4-game series at Syracuse (Nationals). The Red Wings started the trip by losing 3 of 4 at Pawtucket (Red Sox) and dropping the first 3 games of this set at Alliance Bank Stadium. Rochester tomorrow returns to Frontier Field for an 8-game homestand that features Louisville (Reds) and Gwinnett (Braves).

a Today's game can be seen on Time Warner Cable Sports (TWCS) and it will be simulcast to a national audience on MLB Network. The Red Wings' May 22 game vs. Gwinnett at 11:05 a.m. can also be seen regionally on TWCS and nationally on MLB Network.

a The Red Wings today wrap up a stretch of playing their first 37 games against International League North Division opponents. Rochester tomorrow plays outside of its division for the first time. The Wings will play 40 consecutive games against interdivision foes through June 25 before returning to North Division competition at Lehigh Valley (Phillies) June 26-29.

BASEBALL MONTH IN ROCHESTER: The Red Wings and Monroe County have proclaimed May as "Baseball Month in Rochester." Frontier Field is hosting games on 25 of the 31 days in the month, as the Empire State Yankees use the downtown ballpark as a temporary home while PNC Field in Moosic, PA undergoes a season-long renovation. Today in Rochester for the Yankees-Durham Bulls (Rays) game:

QUARTER POINT: The Red Wings yesterday reached the quarter point of their season, playing their 36th game of the 144-game schedule. Rochester hasn't had a winning record at the quarter point since 2009, when it was 19-17. The Wings last year were 15-21 at that point of the season and 14-22 in 2010.

GET RID OF THE SKID: The Red Wings have lost 5 in a row and 6 of their last 7, a stretch that follows a season-high 4-game winning streak. The Wings have also lost 14 of their last 19 games, a stretch that began with a season-worst 8-game losing streak April 25 -May 2. Rochester is 9-20 since starting the season 5-2.

Rochester is on the brink of being swept by Syracuse in a 4-game series for the first time since May 19-21, 2010 at Frontier Field (Stephen Strasburg was the winner in the 2nd game of a day-night doubleheader May 19.)

a The Red Wings haven't been swept in a 4-game series in Syracuse since August 21-24, 2000 at P&C Stadium.

WRONG KIND OF SIX PACK: The Red Wings have lost 6 in a row against Syracuse, their longest current losing streak against any opponent in the IL. It also marks the longest losing streak against any one opponent since a 6-game skid against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (Yankees) August 20-25, 2011. SPREADING THEIR WINGS: Yesterday in Minnesota, a pair of former Red Wings shined in the Twins' 4-3 win over Toronto. Scott Diamond allowed just 5 hits while striking out 4 in 7.0 scoreless innings to improve to 2-0. Brian Dozier, meanwhile, went 2-for-5 with his first career home run, a solo shot off Ricky Romero in the 3rd that gave the Twins a 1-0 lead. The infielder is hitting .267 with a double, homer, 2 RBI and 5 runs scored in 7 games overall. Diamond has tossed 14.0 straight scoreless innings in 2 starts since joining the Twins.
