RUNAWAY WINGS: After splitting a doubleheader on Thursday, the Rochester Red Wings handled the Syracuse Mets with ease on Friday evening, blowing past the Mets 10-1...Rochester put up nine in the bottom half of the third and never looked back...at the plate, C RILEY ADAMS homered as part of a 2-for-3 night, adding three runs, while 1B ABIMELEC ORTIZ launched his 18th round-tripper of the season...on the mound, RHP LUIS PERALES fired 5.0 scoreless innings for the second time this month and picked up his fifth win of the season, while six Red Wings recorded multi-hit games as the club moved back to 20 games over .500...Rochester looks to win the series tonight, sending LHP JARED SIMPSON to the mound against Mets LHP Justin Santucci, who is making his Triple-A debut... The Red Wings have an International League-leading 62 wins this season, tied with Triple-A Las Vegas and Single-A Fredericksburg for the third-most in Minor League Baseball.

HE WENT TO JARED: Taking the ball for the fourth time (2nd GS) as a Red Wing tonight will be LHP JARED SIMPSON ...the southpaw turned in 1.0 clean inning on one hit with a strikeout and two walks in his first start in game one of Thursday's doubleheader...combined between Double-A Harrisburg and Rochester this season, Simpson ranks 18th among all pitchers at both levels (min. 40.0 IP at AA & AAA) with a 2.30 ERA (11 ER/43.0 IP)...across 17 home games, the Iowa native boasts a 2.14 ERA (5 ER/21.0 IP) with 27 strikeouts and a .205 BAA.

DON'T JULY TO ME: The Red Wings finished July with a 13-11 record, tied for their most wins in the month since they won 15 games in 2019 (13 in '23 & '24)...Rochester's offense has scored the third-most runs (138) in the International League since 7/1, and driven in the third-most RBI (131)...they also rank fourth in doubles (45), and fifth in batting average (.275), hits (213), and SLG (.446)...INF TREY LIPSCOMB led the way for the Red Wings individually across the month including a 2-fo-5 night at the plate with a run scored, ranking fifth in the IL (min. 75 AB) in hits (32), T-6th in RBI (17), T-6th in stolen bases (5), eighth in batting average (.356), T-8th in total bases (48), and ninth in OBP (.410)...

1B ABIMELEC ORTIZ is T-6th in the IL with 12 XBH in the month...he has a total of 43 in 2026, most of any Red Wing in a single season since Travis Blankenhorn in 2024 (50).

CRYSTAL CLEAR: 2B PHILLIP GLASSER went 2-for-4 in yesterday's win, logging three RBI and a walk...the Ohio native now has 35 RBI this season...Glasser has now made it safely to base for nine consecutive games...since the beginning of this streak on 7/22, the second baseman has been slashing .367/.500/.433...with runners in scoring position, Glasser ranks fourth in batting average (.410) amongst all Triple-A hitters (min. 30 AB)...with the bases loaded, he ranks fifth in the International League with a .667 batting average (min. 5 AB).

TYING UP LUIS ENDS: RHP LUIS PERALES twirled 5.0 scoreless innings on four hits last night, while striking out seven and walking a pair en route to his fifth win of the season...his second strikeout of the night marked the 300th of his professional career in his 67th appearance...the Venezuela native finished the month of July with a 1.46 ERA (4 ER/24.2 IP), second-best among all qualified Triple-A pitchers and 11th in full-season Minor League Baseball...he also finished the month second in the IL with 29 strikeouts, sixth with a .180 BAA, and 12th with a 1.30 WHIP and 24.2 innings pitched... As a starter, Perales averages 98.5 MPH on his four-seam fastball, second-hardest among all Triple-A SP (min. 25.0 IP) behind SWB RHP Carlos Lagrange (98.9 MPH).

LIFE OF RI(LEY): C RILEY ADAMS finished the month with another multi-hit performance, his seventh since 7/1...the power-hitting backstop finished the night 2-for-3 with his 10th homer of the season and 30th of his career at the Triple-A level, while adding a walk and three runs scored...he has now picked up a hit in each of his last five games since 7/26 at BUF, picking up seven hits in 15 at-bats (.467) with a .556 OBP...across 22 games against Syracuse in his professional career, Adams is slashing .338/.460/.690 with six homers, seven doubles, 14 RBI, 11 walks and 19 runs scored...

Last night's homer came off the bat at 110.6 MPH, the ninth-hardest by a Red Wing in 2026 and the second-hardest off the bat of Adams (111.2 MPH on 7/17 vs. JAX).

ORTIZ THE DAY: 1B ABIMELEC ORTIZ added on another pair of RBI in his 2-for-5 night, launching his 18th homer of the season in the third inning with teammate CHRISTIAN FRANKLIN on base...his second RBI marked the 400th of his professional career...Ortiz ranks fifth among all Triple-A hitters in RBI (74)...among all International League hitters, the Puerto Rican ranks third in 2B (25) and fifth in extra-base hits (43)...since making his professional debut in 2021, Ortiz ranks sixth in Minor League Baseball with 116 home runs.
