I-Cubs Drop Fifth in a Row to Scranton

Des Moines, IA - The Iowa Cubs (13-19, 43-61) fell to the Scranton / Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (21-9, 58-46) 7-4 on Saturday evening at Principal Park.
The I-Cubs scored one run in the first inning on an RBI single from Moises Ballesteros and another run in the second inning on an RBI double from Chas McCormick. Scranton got on the board with a solo home run in the fourth inning. Iowa responded with a two-run single by Ben Cowles to take a 4-1 lead.
Scranton went on to score four runs in the fifth inning to jump in front. The RailRiders would score one run in each of the sixth and seventh innings to take a three run lead.
The Iowa Cubs conclude a six game series against the Scranton / Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Sunday, with first pitch scheduled for 1:08 p.m. CT.
