
Rochester reassigns Bennet to Frostbite

Glens Falls, NY â The Adirondack Frostbite, member of the United Hockey League (UHL), today announced that forward Ryan Bennett has been reassigned to Adirondack by the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. This was Bennett's first time playing at the AHL level. The Queensbury, NY native spent six games with Rochester tallying seven penalty minutes and an even plus/minus.
Bennett, 22, is in his first full professional season. In 70 games this year in the UHL, the rookie tailed 57 points (22g, 35a), which finished seventh on the Frostbite. Bennett finished fifth in the league amongst rookie scorers and led all rookies in short handed goals with five. He also finished fourth amongst rookies in assists with 35 and led all rookies in plus/minus at +32.
Bennett finished up his collegiate career last season with the University of Nebraska-Omaha, before joining Adirondack where he had two assists in his three games. With Nebraska-Omaha, the Queensbury, NY native had three points (2g, 1a) in three games. Prior to playing in Nebraska, Bennett skated at Lake Superior State University having an assist in 15 games.
Prior to joining the Frostbite Bennett had his best chance to prove himself in the United States Hockey League (USHL), with the Des-Moines Buccaneers and Omaha Lancers. Over a three year span the 6'0'' 210-pounder tallied 107 points (54g, 53a) in 145 games, while making the playoffs each of those seasons.
Bennett is one of two Frostbite players to be called up to the American Hockey League this season. Earlier this season Justin Kelly was called up to the Springfield Falcons.
Single-game tickets for Frostbite opening-round home playoff contests are now on sale at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office. Tickets are available at $14 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $10 for juniors 18 and under and can be ordered over the phone by calling (518) 798-0202.
