Windsor Spitfires Foundation, Rochester Place Presents Check to Transition to Betterness
(Windsor Spitfires)
(Windsor, ON) - The Windsor Spitfires are proud to announce a charitable commitment from Rochester Place as part of the club's MVP Program, through which Transition to Betterness received a donation of $1,000.
Rochester Place president Paul St. Pierre says supporting local charities like T2B is simply the right thing to do.
"For any business that is doing well and is getting rewarded by people supporting them, they should give back to those who really need it," said St. Pierre. "I really like what T2B promotes; giving where you live. I'm a strong believer in that." Transition to Betterness provides comfort to patients and their families that have been impacted by a life-altering illness.
Executive Director Amber Hunter says, as a grassroots charity, local support is key.
"We are so thankful to have so many community partners, Rochester Place being one of them, that help us do what we do," said Hunter. "Every event we have is very well attended. We love that Windsor and Essex County have embraced us. People like Paul: we couldn't do it without you." Prior to the third period of this past Thursday's game versus Sault Ste. Marie, Matt Haddad presented a cheque to Transition to Betterness on behalf of Rochester Place and the Windsor Spitfires Foundation. Transition to Betterness and Rochester Place were also recognized in a feature video presented on the WFCU Centre's Jumbotron during an intermission break.
