(Windsor, ON) - The Windsor Spitfires are proud to announce a charitable commitment from Collins Barrow Chartered Accountants as part of the club's MVP Program, through which Community Living Windsor received a donation of $1,000. Michael Frenette, partner at Collins Barrow, says when the MVP Program was pitched to him, Community Living Windsor was the first group to come to mind. "They are my longest serving client. I have been doing business with them for over 25 years which is rare in today's society," said Frenette. "I know it's a large organization that not too many people in the city know about, so I thought they deserved to have this recognition." Community Living provides support for people with intellectual disabilities.
Executive Director Xavier Noordermeer says Collins Barrow plays a big part in helping their program be successful. "Collins Barrow knows us as an organization, knows the families and people we support and that's essential to the work that we do," said Noordermeer. "It gives value to us as an organization and I'm sure it gives value to them as well."
Prior to the third period of this past Sunday's game versus Hamilton, Spitfires Director of Corporate Partnerships and Premium Seating, Andrew Rowberry, presented a cheque to Community Living Windsor on behalf of Collins Barrow and the Windsor Spitfires Foundation.
Community Living Windsor and Collins Barrow were also recognized in a feature video presented on the WFCU Centre's Jumbotron during an intermission break.
