Rochester Rhinos News Release
ROCHESTER, NY - The Rochester Rhinos host Saint Louis FC in the two sides inaugural meeting in Sahlen's Stadium on Sunday, August 30th 2015 at 4:05PM.
The Rochester Rhinos and Louisville City FC continue their race for the top spot in the USL Eastern Conference this weekend. Rochester will enter the weekend in first place five points clear of City, and both teams will have five matches left to play. However, on Saturday Louisville City FC will host Pittsburgh Riverhounds in Slugger Stadium where the home side boasts an impressive 8-2-2 record this season. If City takes three points from their Saturday night tilt with the Riverhounds, then Rochester's lead would be cut to two points by the time they kick off on Sunday afternoon. The Rhinos are seeking their first trophy since 2011 when they won the USL National Division Championship.
"We've worked hard and played hard all season to put ourselves into this position." USL Hall of Fame Coach Bob Lilley said. "We're up by five points with five games to play, so now it's about finishing the job."
Rochester enters their Sunday matinee with Saint Louis FC coming off of their most impressive result of the season - a 4:0 home victory over Harrisburg City Islanders their last time out on Saturday, August 22nd. Captain Tony Walls opened the scoring with a 16th minute penalty kick. Steevan Humberto Fortes dos Santos scored two second half goals, and rookie Asani Samuels closed out the scoring in the 86th minute after the visitors were reduced to ten men when Yann Ekra was sent off in the 55th minute. The goals were the seventh and eighth of the season for dos Santos, and the Cape Verde native now leads the Rhinos in scoring this season.
Saint Louis FC enters the weekend in ninth place with 26 points from 24 matches played. Saint Louis FC needs three points from Sunday afternoon's match with the Rhinos to reconnect them with Charlotte, Pittsburgh, and Harrisburg City Islanders in the race for the 2015 USL playoffs. Saint Louis has been a good road team this season with a 4 - 4 - 4 record away from home, and they have taken a point in Charleston and three points from FC Montreal in their last four road matches. Former LA Galaxy striker Bryan Gaul leads Saint Louis FC in scoring with four goals and three assists for 11 points in the regular season.
"It's that time of the year. Both teams are going to take the field on Sunday needing to take all three points. We're unbeaten at home this season, and we need to keep getting wins at home to close out the season, and finish in first place." Lilley said.

Rhinos Sign Nate Bourdeau
The Rochester Rhinos have agreed to terms with midfielder Nate Bourdeau in advance of the USL roster freeze deadline on Tuesday, September 1st 2015. Bourdeau is a 25 year old center midfielder who will provide the Rhinos with depth at a position where Rochester has suffered season ending injuries to Christian Silva and New England Revs loanee Tyler Rudy. Bourdeau was a three year starter in midfield for Rutgers University after the Baldwinsville native closed out a stellar high school career with CW Baker. Bourdeau has previously played for Ocean City Nor'Easters in the USL PDL and Syracuse Silver Knights indoor soccer team. Bourdeau's deal is still pending approval from U.S. Soccer.
