Louisville, KY (August 27, 2015) - After two exhilarating matches at Highmark Stadium, Louisville City FC (13-4-6, 45 points) and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds (9-9-5, 32 points) will meet at Slugger Field for the first time. The 7:30 PM showdown on Saturday night has the potential to be a memorable night for City fans, as three points will clinch a postseason berth in the club's first season.

The match will feature two of the league's top scorers in Louisville's Matt Fondy and Pittsburgh's Rob Vincent. The clubs as a whole are first and second in the league in goals scored. Louisville leads the league with 48, with Pittsburgh right behind at 47. Saturday has the potential to be a goal-fest, but if the last two meet-ups are indicative of what we'll see this weekend, it's just as likely the match could be anything but.

The first match back on April 19th took a stoppage time equalizer from Kadeem Dacres for Louisville to get out with a 1-1 draw. The Eastern Conference foes met again on July 18th in Highmark Stadium. A Matt Fondy goal in the second half gave Lou City a 2-1 win. Magnus Rasmussen gave City the lead with a free kick in the first half, only to see Kevin Kerr level things with a header five minutes later.

Louisville is coming off back-to-back wins of the same scoreline of 3-1. Last Saturday's win over Charleston kept City within five points from the top of the table. Fondy scored twice to run his total number of goals to 18 on the season. Sandwiched in between the two Fondy goals, Rasmussen also added to the scoring. Charleston would score in the 85th minute to avoid the shutout.

On Tuesday Lou City hosted Orlando City of the MLS. Goals from Matt Fondy, Juan Guzman, and Charlie Adams led Louisville to the 3-1 victory in front of a record crowd of nearly 10,000 at Slugger Field.

The Riverhounds haven't got all three points since their 4-3 win over Harrisburg back on July 26th. In their most recent contest Pittsburgh fell to 2-1 to the Charlotte Independence. The loss last Saturday dropped them below the playoff line.

Not only will it be a big match for both teams, but it will also be Louisville City's last Saturday home game of the 2015 season. With that being the case, fans are encouraged to get their tickets early to ensure a good seat, and avoid long lines on matchday. Visit LouisvilleCityFC.com/tickets to purchase yours today.
