Idaho Steelheads News Release

Boise, ID (4/17/13) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Wednesday that goaltender Josh Robinson has re-joined the Idaho Steelheads after being assigned to the team by the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.

Idaho (ECHL) and Texas (AHL) are the primary development affiliates of the NHL's Dallas Stars. The American Hockey League is the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America.

Robinson has been recalled to Texas three times this season without seeing any game action. He was selected as the Steelheads' team MVP after winning 27 games in net during the regular season and finishing among the ECHL leaders in wins (2nd), save percentage (.925, 2nd), shutouts (5, 2nd), total saves (1,245, 4th) and goals-against average (2.57, 9th) in his first professional season out of Michigan Tech.

In a related move, the team has released goaltender Joe Howe from his amateur tryout (ATO) contract.

Robinson will be with the team when it travels to Ontario, CA, this weekend for Games 1 and 2 of the ECHL Western Conference semifinals, presented by KeyBank. The best-of-seven series opens Friday night in Ontario at 8 PM (Mtn) and can be heard live on KTIK (1350 AM) in the Treasure Valley. The team will also be hosting a FREE watch party at the SportZone inside CenturyLink Arena with doors opening at 7 PM.

Season Tickets for the 2013-14 season are already on sale! After finishing the regular season with 45 wins and nearly 100 points in the standings, you won't want to miss any of the action next season when the Steelheads take the ice.
