Robinson and Washington Return to Bolster Defense

The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) has re-signed defensive duo Alvin Robinson and Eric Washington for the 2008 season. Both players played in a reserve role during their first season for the Storm during 2007 and will compete for starting spots in 2008.

In 2007, Robinson played in 10 games, compiling 16 total tackles of which 2.5 were for a loss. The former North Dakota State athlete also had 1.5 sacks and one fumble forced during the season.

Robinson started his collegiate career at Pearl River Community College in Mississippi before transferring to North Dakota State for his final two years of eligibility. Robinson started 11 games for the Bison in 2004 recording 47 tackles and 2.5 sacks on the year. His performance earned him honorable mention honors on the All-Great West Football Conference (GWFC) team. During the 2005 season Robinson again started all 11 games and compiled 42 tackles. Robinson's work earned him All-GWFC Second Team honors.

In 2007, Washington appeared in one game and recorded 2.5 tackles. Washington looks to fortify the Storm's defensive backfield and take on a bigger role in 2008.

Washington saw playing time in all four of his seasons at Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU). Washington played in 11 games in 2004 for the Tigers and tallied 71 tackles and four interceptions during the season. Washington saw playing time in 10 games again in 2005 as he had 38 tackles and an interception. Washington's senior season in 2006 was phenomenal as he recorded 96 tackles from his defensive back position, which ranked second in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). Washington also compiled eight interceptions, which was third in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). After the season, Washington was recognized by the GPAC by being selected to the All-Conference Second Team.
