Rage Sign Highly Decorated Quarterback

St. Charles, MO - The RiverCity Rage have announced the signing of quarterback, Cody Craig. The 6-1, 190-pound signal caller was named the Midwest Conference (NCAA Div. III) "Player of the Year" after leading the conference with 30 touchdowns (three rushing) while throwing for 2,755 yards. He led his St. Norbert (WI) College Green Knights to a second straight 10-0 regular season record in 2007.
Rage Head Coach, Eric Van Tassel is equally impressed with his off-the-field work as he is with Craig's football prowess.
"He is an extremely smart player. He was a three-time Academic All-Conference player and threw for over 7,000 yards," said Van Tassel. "Any time you can have a rookie that can combine those two attributes you have yourself a great find. I was overwhelmed by his desire to learn more about the game of football, especially the indoor game. We want players here that are looking to improve their games and we want to help them achieve that goal."
Craig was a three-year starter at St. Norbert College. He compiled 7,171 passing yards and 77 total touchdowns (7 rushing) while leading his team to a 28-4 record in those three seasons. He concluded his college career ranked in the Midwest Conference career Top-10 in passing yards, touchdowns, completions, attempts, and completion percentage.
The Rage will take the field for the first time in '08 with a preseason game against the Missouri Wildcats on Sunday, March 2nd at 3:00. As all Rage home games, the contest will be at the Family Arena in St. Charles. The Rage open their regular season Sunday, March 9th as they host the Colorado Ice at 3:00.
