Robert Lynch Named To World Basketball Cup Executive Committee
November 5, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Indianapolis, IN. The World Basketball Cup (www.worldbasketballcup.com) today announced that Robert Lynch, President of RLM, Robert Lynch Management, Inc., has been named to its Executive Committee. His areas of responsibility will include the development of North America and South America as well as marketing and public relations for the WBC. Prior to establishing RLM in 2003, Lynch worked for Atlantic Records in the artist relations department and as a product manager. RLM specializes in all facets of marketing and promotion in the entertainment industry including, but not limited to, sports, music and clothing.
In 2007, in collaboration with the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), Universal Music Group and producers Tim Mitchell and George Noriega (Ricky Martin, Shakira, Gloria Estefan), he released Lilian Garcia's breakout album, "Queiro Vivir" featuring "Adonde" a duet with Grammy Award winning artist Jon Secada.
The release of the album complimented the previous three years of sports industry marketing with the MLB, NFL, NHL and NBA, which allowed Ms. Garcia and RLM to cross over into the Latin American pop culture. In 2008, Lynch partnered with Jerry Blair of Fuerte Group to continue expanding his success in the Latin American professional sports and music industries respectively.
After being named as an All-State point guard out of Newark University, Lynch went on to play Division I basketball for Rider University where he studied Marketing and Business Administration. He continued his education at Five Towns College in Long Island after receiving further degrees in Sports Entertainment and Music.
"We are very fortunate to have a person with Bobby's background and experience," said Joe Newman, WBC CEO. "He will not only help to maximize the potential of the WBC in South America, but he will be able to add his knowledge of PR, marketing and entertainment to the overall operation. Our goal is to make the WBC tournament in Atlanta in 2010 a world class event and having Bobby with us will certainly enhance our chances."
