Montreal Alouettes News Release

Montreal - The OSM and the Alouettes are happy to announce that singers Robert Charlebois, Marie-Josee Lord and Marc Hervieux will be participating in the benefit concert that will take place under the direction of Kent Nagano on Saturday, August 11, at 7:30 p.m. at Percival Molson Stadium at the invitation of the Montreal Alouettes.

According to the weather forecast, sunny skies and an ideal summertime temperature will prevail when the audience welcomes the Orchestra and its guests.

This concert is presented by BMO Bank of Montreal, and for the occasion, Percival Molson Stadium will be arranged as an amphitheatre.

Marie-Josee Lord and Marc Hervieux will be reprising their characters of Marie-Jeanne and Zero Janvier for the evening, the robot waitress and the businessman in Starmania, the classic rock opera from the team of Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon.

Their performances were singled out for special praise when the work enjoyed its symphonic premiere in November 2004 with the OSM, an event marking the 25th anniversary of Starmania. They will additionally be heard in two of Puccini's most famous arias, excerpts from La Boheme and Turandot.

Robert Charlebois, a giant of Québec song, will also sing "Ordinaire," one of his biggest hits, which he has already performed with the OSM. Violinist Jonathan Crow will be guest soloist for Lalo's Symphonie espagnole.

Once again, all proceeds from the sale of tickets will go towards supporting two organizations involved in assisting sick and disadvantaged children, Hôpital Sainte-Justine and Garde-Manger Pour Tous.

Tickets are on sale at the exceptional price of $15 at the Montreal Alouettes box office and over the Admission network. This is a unique opportunity for the public to attend an OSM concert conducted by Kent Nagano in one of the city's finest settings, in a convivial atmosphere. Ideal for an open-air family outing!
