Robbie Ray to Make Rehab Start with Rawhide June 14

VISALIA, CA - The Visalia Rawhide and Arizona Diamondbacks announced today that 2017 NL All-Star LHP Robbie Ray will make a rehab start with the Rawhide as they host the Modesto Nuts on Thursday, June 14.
Ray, who was acquired by the Diamondbacks in a three-way trade with the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees on December 5, 2014 along with former Rawhide star Domingo Leyba. Ray broke out in 2017, going 15-5 with a 2.89 ERA in 28 starts, striking out 218 hitters in 162 innings. He made six starts this season before being placed on the Disabled List with an oblique injury.
Ray made one rehab start last year with Visalia on August 17 when he was coming back from a concussion. He pitched 4.2 innings against Modesto and allowed two runs on four hits while striking out 11 Nuts hitters.
