SALT LAKE CITY - Rob Keefe is well-known for his enthusiastic approach to the game. With a seemingly endless supply of energy, the second-year Defensive Coordinator of the Blaze is a constant motivational force on the field. But on Wednesday morning, Keefe stepped away from the sidelines and took time out of his schedule to speak to the students of Murray High School during its annual career day.

Located just south of Salt Lake City, Murray High School holds career day every year to give students a head start on finding a path that will lead them to the job of their dreams. Along with the Utah Blaze front office staff, Keefe visited with several classes and offered advice to students on how to reach their occupational goals.

"The lessons I've learned on what it takes to become a successful coach can be applied to any occupation," said Keefe. "Even if these students decide to chase a different career, the same principles of dedication and hard work will always apply. I'm happy to have the opportunity to hopefully inspire these kids and help them achieve their goals."

Bringing his usual excitable approach, Keefe spoke to the students for several hours while describing his experiences in the Arena Football League as both a player and a coach. He offered insight into the inner workings of the professional football industry, and also encouraged students to take a chance at their dreams.

"I always tell people that I never work a day in my life because I love what I do," Keefe explained. "I go to my job and I have fun, each and every day. I try to stress to the kids how important it is to do something you love, because if you really love what you do, you will never look at it as work."

Throughout each presentation, Keefe always urged students to follow the principle of one specific quote.

"Michael Jordan once said, 'I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.' There's a really important message in there that I try to preach to kids. You can't be afraid to fail. It's inevitable; everyone fails at some point in their life. But if you can learn from your failures, the lessons you learn will make you a successful person."
