
Roanoke Picks Up Richie Dalmau

GREENVILLE, S.C. (December 4, 2002) - The Roanoke Dazzle has acquired guard Richie Dalmau, according to announcement today by National Basketball Development League Executive Director Karl Hicks and Dazzle Head Coach Kent Davison. Roanoke waived guard SirValiant Brown.
Dalmau, whose given name is Raymond, began the 2002-03 NBDL season with the Fayetteville Patriots before being released on Nov. 26. The Patriots' second-round draft pick and the 10th overall selection in this year's draft, Dalmau played in three games for Fayetteville averaging 0.7 points and 0.7 rebounds per game.
Brown, who was an allocated player for the Dazzle, played in eight games averaging 3.5 points and 1.1 rebounds.
At 6-foot-6, 210-pounds, Dalmau played briefly at South Plains (Texas) College ('94) before returning to his native Puerto Rico to play for Team Puerto Rico and various professional teams. He is expected to be in uniform when the Dazzle hosts Greenville Thursday at the Roanoke Civic Center. Dalmau will wear jersey number 5.
