March 29, 2015 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Wenatchee Wild News Release

With the arrival of a new day, game two of the RoadRunners vs. Wild series came about, and it was a game that lifted all expectations. As one would expect, having two strong willed benches on the ice at the same time would bring about an instense of a match as this one, and after three periods, the win was only separated by a single point. Wenatchee would end the night taking Game Two with a 4-3 final, and seeing the pressure rise for Game Three, the entire series could end in a successful sweep for Wenatchee. The Wild have been putting forward some of their best performances of the season, and if the roster continues to play as good as they have been all weekend, Wenatchee could go into the post season as quite the formidable opponent. Ending a successful night, Mike Coyne, Chris Jones, and Zach Quinn took home the game's 3 Stars.

With only one goal in the first period, Andre Pison would give the home team the 1-0 lead three minutes and twenty four seconds into this action packed game. This power play goal was made possible with the help of Kyle Stephan and Tyler Rockwell.

August Von Ungern-Sternberg opened the second period forty nine seconds into the frame, and with the assistance of Mike Coyne and Colin Burston, Wenatchee was given their second goal of the game. Eight minutes later, Chris Jones was able to break free from the game's intensity and put the Wild up 3-0. Assists were credited to Coyne and Dan Bailey. Eleven minutes into this period, Cam Strong netted Topeka's first goal on the power play when he was fed the biscuit by Jasen Fernsler and Ryan Polin. Sixteen minutes into the period, Coyne recorded his third point of the night and Wenatchee's fourth and final goal. With yet another power play point for the team, Colin Burston and Chris Jones were able to assist Coyne.

Trying to close the scoring gap as much as possible, Mike Gornall gave Dominic Lutz the puck for Topeka's second point of the match. This power play goal occurred seven minutes and two seconds into the final frame. With six minutes remaining in the game, Sam Rennaker lit the lamp one final time for the RoadRunners with the assistance of JB Baker.

Wenatchee was able to tally a total of 26 shots on goal and only 5 penalties. The players that recorded infractions were Ryan Chiasson (Cross Checking) (Charging), Jake Ahlgren (Tripping), Kyle Stephan (Boarding), and Mike Coyne (High Sticking).

After the game, Coach Littler stated, "We played 50 minutes of very good hockey, Had some mental lapses in the last ten that made the game interesting. Proud of our effort."

Zach Quinn was in the cage for the Wild throughout this match and he was able to save an impressive 32 shots on goal out of 35.

The Wild will play their last game of the regular season tomorrow, March 29th, and the match will begin at 5:05 pm PST! Don't miss out!
