TOPEKA, Kan. - The Topeka RoadRunners announced Friday that forward Dominic Lutz, who will play in his 100th game as a RoadRunner tonight, has been named co-captain of the North American Hockey League team, joining team captain Cam Strong and alternates J.B. Baker and Tyler Hayes.

Lutz, from Livonia, Mich., is having a breakout season for the RoadRunners as he is tied for the team lead in goals scored (22) and second in points (39), behind only forward Johnny Walker. Lutz will try to make his 100th game memoriable tonight in North Richland Hills, Texas, as the RoadRunners begin a two-game set against the Lone Star Brahamas.

"Dominic is a high-character kid, and we're happy that his success this season has led to a great deal of attention from colleges,' said RoadRunners Head Coach Josh Kamrass. "He has a large presence in our locker room, which has garnered a great deal of respect from his peers and the coaching staff. We couldn't think of a better type of leader."

Lutz was recently selected to play in the NAHL's Top Prospects tournament, and competed on the NAHL Select Team. He finished the two-game tourney with a pair of goals in a 6-3 win over the U.S. National Team Development Program.

Lutz, a product of Livonia Stevenson High School, is in his second season with the RoadRunners. Last year he finished with 18 points in 54 games. This season Lutz is already more than doubled his output in fewer games with 22 goals, 17 assists in 45 games.
