RoadRunners Announce Revised 2008-09 Schedule

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and the Worcester Sharks, announced today a revised 72-game schedule for the upcoming 2008-09 season.

Due to building conflicts at US Airways Center and opposing venues, the RoadRunners have changed four home dates and three road dates from their original schedule. The Oct. 20 home game against Victoria has been moved to Sunday, Oct. 19; the Dec. 9 home game versus Ontario has been changed to Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009; the March 9, 2009 home date versus Fresno has been changed to Saturday, March 7, 2009; and the March 30, 2009 home game against Bakersfield has been moved to Tuesday, Dec. 30. Meanwhile, the Dec. 13 road game at Victoria has been changed to Sunday, Dec.14; the Jan. 10, 2009 road game at Fresno has been moved to Sunday, Nov. 23; and the Feb. 1, 2009 road game at Stockton has been changed to Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009.

The RoadRunners also announced today start times for all 72 games. All home contests Monday through Saturday will begin at 7:05 p.m., a change from their 7:11 p.m. face-offs in previous seasons. Sunday home games will begin at 5:05 p.m.

Phoenix will visit Las Vegas at 3:05 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16 in a special President's Day matinee.

For a third consecutive year, the RoadRunners will commence their season at home when they welcome the West Division regular season champion Victoria Salmon Kings for a three-game Opening Weekend series beginning with the season opener at 7:05 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17 at US Airways Center. The three-game set will kick off a season-high six-game home-stand and a stretch of 15 out of the first 21 games on home ice through Dec. 5.

The RoadRunners will play 24 of their 36 home games on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Phoenix will play a two-game pre-season series against the Florida Everblades Oct. 10-11 at Germain Arena in Estero, Fla.
