Road Warriors Solidify Blue Line with Signing of Cole

Greenville, SC: Today the Road Warriors announced the signing of defenseman Brad Cole for the 2013-2014 season.
"Brad has a veteran presence about him both on and off the ice. He really takes pride in team defense and has a very high Hockey IQ. I see Brad as a big part of our leadership group in Greenville this season," said Head Coach Dean Stork. "He played for me in the 2010-11 season and was my most consistent defender in the playoffs that year. His relentless style of in your face hockey will make him a hard player to play against. I will rely on Brad in a shut-down role making it hard for other team's skilled players in our defensive zone."
Cole, 26, spent the previous two seasons playing in the Austrian European Elite League, the highest talented league in Austria. His last season spent in the United States was with the Road Warriors in 2010-2011. The 6'3'' 200 lbs. defenseman played in 44 games with Greenville registering two goals, seven assists, and 41 penalty minutes. Cole played in the AHL for two seasons from 2008-2010. The Miniota, Manitoba native has a total of 161 games played in the AHL with the Quad City Flames/Abbotsford Heat organization.
"I'm excited to be back in Greenville on many different levels. On the hockey side, I'm looking forward to helping bring a Kelly Cup championship to Greenville," Cole added. "On a personal side, I was extremely fortunate to meet some awesome people in Greenville during my time. It's going to be great to have those daily interactions with teammates, organization members, and with the community. Greenville is the best U.S. city I've lived in and I am looking forward to the 2013-2014 season."
The players currently under contract for the 2013-2014 season are as follows:
Forwards (8) Sean Berkstresser, Matt Lowry, Adam Pleskach, Robbie Bourdon, Matt Thurber, Jordie Johnston, Bretton Cameron and J.M. Rizk.
Defensemen (4) Jace Coyle, Ryan Hegarty, Lee Baldwin and Brad Cole.
The Road Warriors are gearing up for the season! On September 12th, the Road Warriors are hosting a Locker Room Sale and Select-a-Seat Event at the BI-LO Center from 6:00-8:00 pm. Fans will have the chance to buy discounted merchandise, game-used apparel, and view seats still open for the 2013-14 season.
