
Aces Sign Tim Coffman, Brad Richard and Matt Ridley

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces have signed free agent forward Tim Coffman and defenseman Brad Richard for the 2013-14 season and defenseman Matt Ridley to a professional tryout offer, Aces head coach Rob Murray announced today.
Coffman, 25, skated last season in the Netherlands for the Tilburg Trappers and was tied for fourth in club scoring with 48 points (20g-28a) in only 26 games. He also helped guide the club to a Dutch Cup championship and led the team in tournament scoring with 13 points (8g-5a) in six games.
The native of Elverson, Pa. began his ECHL career in 2011-12 with the Greenville Road Warriors and collected five points (3g-2a) and a +4 rating in 14 games while earning an assist in his professional debut. Coffman also suited up in one Kelly Cup Playoff game.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound forward was a two-year captain in 98 career games with Utica College (NCAA) and left the program as the career leader in scoring with 139 points (58g-81a) in four seasons. He averaged over a point per game every season and was Utica's scoring leader in each of his first three seasons.
Coffman was an All-Conference First Team honoree, leading the Pioneers with 34 points and a career high 23 assists as a 2010-11 junior.
Richard, 24, previously spent the last four seasons with Hobart College (NCAA), serving as captain during his final two seasons en route to 64 points (22g-42a) in 97 career games.
The 5-foot-10, 194 pound blueliner earned career highs in points (22) and goals (11) in 27 games as a 2011-12 junior while finishing tied for second on the program in goal scoring. He collected 11 points (4g-7a) in 20 games last season, earning a spot on the second team of the CCM Hockey All American East Team.
Ridley, 23, posted 11 points in 26 games on the blueline last season with the Mississippi Surge of the Southern Professional Hockey League and has 27 points in 73 career SPHL games. The 6-foot-2, 212-pound defenseman also has an assist in four SPHL playoff games and had five games of playing experience in the Central Hockey League with the Tulsa Oilers in 2011-12.
Matt's father, Mike, skated for 12 seasons as a center in the National Hockey League with the Washington Capitals, Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks and New York Rangers and suited up in the 1989 NHL All-Star Game for the Wales Conference.
