
Road Warriors Assigned Ten Players from Affiliates

Greenville, SC: Today the Road Warriors announced they have received four players from the New York Rangers, four players from the Hartford Wolf Pack, and two players from the Adirondack Phantoms.
The New York Rangers have assigned forwards Josh Nicholls, Michael St. Croix, Jason Wilson and defenseman Samuel Noeau.
Hartford has assigned forward Andrew Rowe, defensemen Charlie Dodero and Mike Marcou, and goaltender Jeff Malcolm.
Adirondack has assigned forward Andrew Johnston and goaltender Carsen Chubak.
"We have been sent an excellent group of young talent but I still need to evaluate them to see where they fit into our team," said Head Coach Dean Stork. "We know what we are getting guys like Wilson, Marcou and Rowe but it is up to them to prove they belong and maintain their play from previous years."
Josh Nicholls, 21, spent the last five seasons with the Saskatoon Blades in the Western Hockey League. Last season, he shared the lead for top scorer on the team with 85 points. The Tsawwassen, British Columbia native was third in the WHL with 47 goals. Nicholls was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft in the seventh round. He signed a three year entry level contract with the New York Rangers in March.
Michael St. Croix, 20, led the Edmonton Oil Kings, of the WHL, in goals, assists, points and power play goals last season. His 92 points last season were seventh best in the WHL. St. Croix also finished ninth in the league in assists with 55. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native recorded 32 multi-point performances last season, including two five point games.
Jason Wilson, 23, split last season between the Road Warriors and Connecticut Whale. The gritty forward collected five points and 75 penalty minutes in 23 games with the Road Warriors. In his limited time in Connecticut, he played 17 games with one goal and 30 penalty minutes. Wilson is from Richmond Hill, Ontario.
Samuel Noreau, 20, is entering his first professional season. The 6'5" 223 pound defensemen spent the past four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with Baie-Comeau Drakkar. In 225 games for Baie-Comeau, Noreau tallied 18 goals and 45 assists to go along with 314 penalty minutes. Noreau was drafted by the New York Rangers in the fifth round, 136th overall, in the 2011 NHL Entry Level Draft.
Andrew Rowe, 25, will be entering his fourth professional season. He's spent limited time with the Road Warriors in two of the past three seasons. In 12 total games with Greenville, the Spring Lake, Michigan native has put up six goals and two assists. Last season, Rowe led the ECHL's Elmira Jackals in scoring with 29 goals and 43 assists for 71 points. Rowe also spent five games last season with the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL, where he contributed one assist.
Charlie Dodero, 20, has played the past three seasons with the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League. Last season, he led team defensemen in goals with 7 and was tied among team defensemen in points with 27. In 248 career OHL games, Dodero registered 11 goals, 58 assists for 69 points along with 286 PIM.
Mike Marcou, 24, played 54 games last season with the Road Warriors, and represented Greenville in the ECHL All-Star game. He led defensemen in points with six goals, 19 assists for 25 points. His +19 rating ranked second best for the team and fourth best among ECHL rookies.
Jeff Malcolm, 24, capped off his four year college career at Yale by winning the first ever D1 NCAA Championship in the school's history. Malcolm posted a 36 save shutout in the championship game. His stellar performance throughout the tournament earned him Frozen Four All-Tournament Team honors. Last season, Malcolm went 20-6-2 in 30 games with a 2.24 goals-against average, a .919 save percentage and had three shutouts. During his four years at Yale, Malcolm appeared in 67 games, posting a career record of 36-21-4 with a 2.60 GAA, a .907 save percentage and six shutouts.
Andrew Johnston, 22, split last season between the Adirondack Phantoms and the Trenton Titans. With the Phantoms, he played 29 games and registered two goals and three assists. While with the Titans, the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native scored three goals and eight assists in 18 games played.
Carsen Chubak, 24, comes to the Road Warriors after spending four seasons playing D1 college hockey at Niagara University. Last season, Chubak notched a 23-7-5 record, 1.91 goals against average and a .939 save percentage. His fantastic play helped Niagara University to an NCAA tournament berth and led to him being named one of ten finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, given annually to College Hockey's top player.
The push for 50 is on! The Road Warriors are attempting to hit 50 Full Season Ticket sales between now and October 11th. If the team accomplishes this feat, one ticket holder that is paid in full will have an opportunity to see the team's NHL affiliate, the New York Rangers, play in Washington, D.C. with Road Warriors' Owner, Fred Festa! The trip includes a free roundtrip flight, one night stay in a hotel, and two tickets to attend in Fred Festa's personal suite at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.
