
Riversharks Starting Pitcher Signs with Pittsburgh Pirates

Camden Riversharks News Release
The Camden Riversharks announced that right-handed starting pitcher, Travis Chick has signed a contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He will join the Indianapolis Indians, the Pirates Triple-A team.
This season the right-hander had a combined 4.40 ERA and finished with a 5-4 record for the Camden Riversharks. In Chick's first season of independent baseball, he pitched 59.1 innings and threw 47 strikeouts.
Chick was originally drafted by the Florida Marlins in 2002. In 2004 he was traded to the San Diego Padres. He made his major league debut with the Seattle Mariners in 2006. That same year, Chick made three appearances in the majors, and spent the following three seasons playing AA and AAA ball in the Mariners and Dodgers systems.
