
Riversharks Sign Three Newcomers

CAMDEN, N.J. - The Camden Riversharks announced the signings of Bobby Stevens, Jay Voss, and Joel Galarraga today. With these signings, the Riversharks have seventeen players currently under contract.
Stevens, 26, joins Camden after spending the 2013 season with the Somerset Patriots. The former Orioles product played six different positions for Somerset a season ago, and brings a career .245 batting average to the Riversharks infield. Last season Stevens set a career-high in stolen bases with 17, and his 78 hits were also a career-best. His peak came in 2012, when he reached the AAA level in Norfolk.
Lefthanded pitcher Jay Voss joins the Riversharks pitching staff after spending 2013 in the St. Louis Cardinals system. The 26-year-old owns a 4.99 ERA in 173 minor-league games, including 55 starts. This will be Voss's eighth professional season, and first in the Atlantic League.
Catcher Joel Galarraga rounds out the Riversharks signings. Galarraga brings six years of AAA experience to the Riversharks in his first Atlantic League season, as well as a career .309 batting average. Last year the 31-year-old hit .317 in 74 games for Minatitlan in Mexico. For his career, Galarraga has thrown out 36 percent of runners attempting to steal a base.
