Eagles Running Back LeSean McCoy to Host Celebrity Basketball Game

HARRISBURG, PA - Harrisburg native LeSean McCoy, All-Pro running back and 2013 NFL Rushing Leader, of the Philadelphia Eagles, will host the inaugural "Shady Shootout" at Bishop McDevitt High School gymnasium on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 4PM. The basketball game will pit LeSean and his Eagle teammates against a local All-Star Squad.

The LeSean McCoy Foundation serves the underserved through charitable giving and events that uplift and empower people in the community especially disadvantaged youth. McCoy's Foundation is donating approximately 300 tickets to youth in the Central Pennsylvania area who may not other wise have the resources to enjoy a celebrity basketball game. "The Foundation is excited to bring their native son and other professional football players "up close and personal" to the youth of our community," said Paul Kreider, Media Relations for The LeSean McCoy Foundation.

Tickets are on sale now. The price of the tickets are $10.00 each and will only be available at the Bishop McDevitt High School Business Office Monday-Friday from 7:30AM to 3:00PM. Any tickets remaining prior to March 22, 2014 will be sold at the door on game day.

Proceeds from the LeSean McCoy Celebrity Basketball game will be directed to the LeSean McCoy Foundation who in turn will distribute them to Harrisburg community youth centers. "I have two purposes for the basketball game," McCoy said, " I want to give the community a great night of entertainment and secondly I want to help disadvantaged youth in Harrisburg. I am amped up to return to Harrisburg and give back to my hometown."

"This will be a tremendous homecoming for LeSean. Bishop McDevitt is honored to host this event. We salute LeSean and his Foundation. March 22, 2014 will be a special night at Bishop McDevitt High School," said Tommy Mealy, Athletic Director for the Crusaders.
