Camden Riversharks News Release
CAMDEN, NJ - The Camden Riversharks announced the signing of right handed pitcher Ryan Dittfurth Thursday.
Dittfurth, 28, has nine seasons of professional experience after being drafted in the fifth round of the 1998 draft by the Texas Rangers. He spent six seasons with the Rangers-reaching Double-A twice.
He spent 2005 and 2007 in the independent Frontier and Can-Am leagues. He started 20 games for the Sussex Skyhawks last season, going 9-5 with a 3.73 ERA and 121 strikeouts in 140 innings. He was teammates with Camden infielder Bobby Gandolfo.
Injuries kept Dittfurth out of baseball in 2003 and 2006, but he is cleared to play with the Riversharks with no foreseen risk.
Dittfurth is 43-44 with a 4.21ERA in his minor league career.
