Rivermen Unveil 25 Greatest of All-Time, 2006-07 Promo Calendar

Peoria, IL (September 17, 2006) - Peoria Rivermen President/CEO Bart Rogers announced today the 25 Greatest Rivermen of All-Time, presented by U.S. Cellular, as voted on by the fans , and the team's 2006-07 promotional calendar, which kicks off with the Home Opener on Heritage Bank Magnet Schedule Night (first 5,000 fans) on Friday, October 6 vs. the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights.

The 25 Greatest Rivermen of All-Time, presented by U.S. Cellular, will be immortalized in a card set to be given away throughout the season and the winners are as follows by position. The date of each player's card giveaway and years of service are listed in parentheses.

Centers: Michel Mongeau (01/26/07; 1989-92, 1993-96), Nelson Emerson (02/14/07; 1989-91), Ron Hoover (12/31/06; 1991-96), Richard Pion (12/17/06; 1989-94, 1995-96, Kevin Miehm (10/14/06; 1988-95) and Grant Rezansoff (12/27/06; 1982-84, 1985-88).

Left wings: Doug Evans (01/19/07; 1984-88, 1989-90, 1991-92, 1993-99), David Bruce (12/16/06; 1990-91), Dave Thomlinson (02/18/07; 1987-91), Denis Cyr (11/10/06; 1984-87), Bob Fleming (02/07/07; 1982-87), Dave Mackey (11/05/06; 1991-94) and Trevor Baker (03/04/07; 1999-2005).

Sixteen (16) additional giveaway nights color the promotional calendar after the home opener. Maui Jim Sunglasses, a new Rivermen corporate partner, will present two Maui Jim Sunglasses Nights on Saturday, October 7 and Saturday, March 24 with 25 random winners each night. CEFCU will present Rivermen Hand Flag Night (first 2,500 fans) on Saturday, October 14 and 25th Anniversary Rivermen Puck Night (first 2,000 fans) on Friday, January 26.

The annual Rivermen Player Calendar Night (first 5,000 fans) will be held Friday, November 10. Advance Auto Parts Hat Night (first 1,500 fans receive a Rivermen-branded hat) will be on Saturday, November 18. Another new Rivermen corporate partner, Illinois Pork Producers, will give away 2,500 stress pigs on Saturday, December 16.

Ameren will present Rivermen Mouse Pad Night (first 2,500 fans) on Friday, December 29. OSF - St. Francis Medical Center and Children's Hospital of Illinois will present Jersey Backpack Night (first 2,500 fans) on Saturday, January 13. McDonald's Night on Friday, January 19 will provide the first 2,000 adult fans with a FREE "Sandwich of Choice" coupon and the first 500 Kids 12 & Under will receive a Special Gift.

Peoria Air National Guard Poster Night (first 5,000 fans) will be held Saturday, March 3. Circle K Team Photo Nights (first 5,000 fans; with FREE gas coupon) will be held on Friday, March 23 and Saturday, April 14. Coyote Creek Golf Club Night will be on Friday, April 6 and the first 500 golfers will receive a free golf ball and FREE golf certificate.

Seven (7) new appearances or performing acts are highlighted by "Quick Change," which wowed the country on NBC's America's Got Talent, on Friday, February 23. Also appearing/performing (in calendar order): WWE's Torrie Wilson (Friday, October 13); Red Panda Acrobat (Saturday, November 4); "Live Love Tour" - Superchic[K], Sanctus Real, John Reuben & Last Tuesday (Post-game Christian Concert - Friday, December 1); Visit by Santa Claus (Friday, December 15); "The Bucket Boys," Voted Best NBA Entertainment (Saturday, December 16); and a TBD Post-game Christian concert (Saturday, March 24).

Nesquik® "Wacky Wednesdays," Coca-Cola "Friday Date Nights" and Insight "Family Days" are season-long promotions fans will be able to take advantage of at the Peoria Civic Center Box Office. On Nesquik ® "Wacky Wednesdays," fans may redeem a Nestlé Nesquik® bottle cap or UPC label to receive a free Upper Bowl ticket with the purchase of an Upper Bowl ticket at full price. On Coca-Cola "Friday Date Nights," fans need only mention the promotion name at the PCC Box Office to receive two (2) Upper Bowl tickets, two (2) Coca-Colas and a tub of popcorn for just $25. On Insight "Family Days," fan need only mention the promotion name at the PCC Box Office to receive four (4) Upper Bowl tickets, four (4) Coca-Colas, four (4) hot dogs and four (4) bags of Kitchen Cooked potato chips for just $38 (a $70 value).

Post-game Skates with the Rivermen return to three (3) Sunday games on November 5, December 17 and February 11. The Rivermen will wear five (5) specialty jerseys throughout the season to be auctioned to benefit the Children's Hospital of Illinois and other local charities. The team will wear authentic replica jerseys from each of the franchise's three championships (1985-85 International Hockey League-IHL Turner Cup, Saturday, November 18; 1990-91 IHL Turner Cup, Friday, December 22; 1999-00 ECHL Kelly Cup, Friday, January 12). In addition, the Rivermen will special Blues jerseys (Friday, February 23) and St. Patrick's Day jerseys (Saturday, March 3); Kelleher's will present a Pre-St. Patrick's Day celebration on March 3.

Surrounding the holidays, the Rivermen will again participate in helping out the area's needy with Salvation Army's "Coats for Kids" Night on Friday, November 24; Teddy Bear Toss Night on Sunday, December 3; and U.S. Marine Corps "Toys for Tots" Night on Friday, December 15.

The Rivermen host the Chicago Wolves in preseason action on Saturday, September 23 at 7:00 p.m. at Carver Arena in the front end of a home-and-home set between the clubs. And on Tuesday, September 26, Peoria faces off against the Iowa Stars at 7:00 p.m. at Carver Arena in the opening salvo of a home-and-home affair.

Rivermen season ticket plans are on sale now with 1) a Full Season package (40 games), 2) the 25th Anniversary package (25 games), 3) a 12-game package, 4) a seven-game package and 5) undated voucher books (denominations of 20 vouchers). Packages start at just $75 per seat.
