
Rivermen Sign Corey Tamblyn to Tryout Contract

Peoria Rivermen head coach Jean-Guy Trudel announced Friday that forward Corey Tamblyn has been signed to a three-game tryout contract. He is expected to be in the lineup tonight against Huntsville.
Tamblyn, 24, began the season with the Allen Americans in the Central Hockey league and recorded five points (2g, 3a) in 16 games. Last year, he played 25 games with the Mississippi Surge (SPHL), where he notched six goals and 11 assists for a career-high 17 points. The Bobcaygeon, Ontario native also spent 25 games in the ECHL last season between the Idaho Steelheads and Trenton Titans, posting four assists.
A native of Bobcaygeon, Ontario, Tamblyn made his professional debut with the Elmira Jackals (ECHL) on March 16, 2012. He played nine regular-season games with the Jackals (plus an additional four playoff games) and registered three points (2g, 1a) during the 2011-12 season following a four-year career at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York. Over 130 collegiate games, Tamblyn posted 19 goals and 28 assists for 47 points for the Golden Knights.
He was awarded Clarkson's Best Defensive Player Award during his senior season in 2011-12.
