Rivermen schedule more promotions

Peoria, IL (December 22, 2005) - Corporate Sales and Marketing Manager David Rak of the Peoria Rivermen, the proud primary affiliate of the St. Louis Blues, today announced that the Rivermen have scheduled six new promotions for the 2005-06 season.

The six new promotional dates include two appearances by stars of World Wrestling Entertainment. On Friday, January 27, "Sgt. Slaughter" will visit Carver Arena to add to the festivities of Peoria Air National Guard Rivermen Team Poster Night. Then on Wednesday, March 1, Mick Foley, also known as "Mankind," will appear at the Rivermen home game that evening versus the Rochester Americans.

Caterpillar has arranged for Dave Blaney, the driver of the NASCAR team that CAT sponsors, to appear at the Caterpillar Fleece Blanket Night on Saturday, January 28. About one month later, the world-famous Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders will visit Peoria to see the Rivermen take on the Cleveland Barons on Friday, February 24.

The other two promotions that the Rivermen have recently lined up are appearances by renowned movie characters. On Saturday, March 4, "Pedro" from the cult-classic film Napoleon Dynamite will be on hand for the Circle K Rivermen Team Photo Night on Saturday, March 4. The Hanson Brothers from the movie Slapshot, perhaps the most popular hockey film ever made, will make an appearance at Carver Arena on Friday, April 7, for the OSF/Children's Hospital of Illinois Rivermen Cap Night.
