Mississippi RiverKings News Release
Southaven, Miss. - Only days before the RiverKings return to Planters Bank Ice at Landers center, the team and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser have announced the signing of forward Jamie Hill and the loaning of defenseman Vytal Cote to ECHL Wichita.
Hill, 25, continues his rookie season after playing three games this season with the Macon Mayhem. Prior to his professional career, the Glassboro, NJ native played four seasons at the University of New Hampshire where he totaled 106 games played, 9 goals and 11 assists.
Making room for Hill on the roster, the RiverKings announced that defenseman Vytal Cote has been loaned to the Wichita Thunder of the ECHL. Cote played in all three of the RiverKings games this season after spending time in Evansville for training camp and signing with Mississippi shortly after. The Hollywood, FL, born Cote used his 6-foot-2, 201-pound frame to win a fight in this past weekend's battle with Pensacola providing a much-needed spark to the team.
The RiverKings return to Planters Bank Ice at Landers Center this Friday night for Titanic Night where Jamie Hill will get his first chance to play his former team when the Macon Mayhem invades Southaven. Hill becomes the second player in as many games to play against his former team after a trade or signing, following Daniel Tedesco who was traded to Mississippi from Pensacola only two days before the two teams met in Florida this past Friday. Tickets for Friday night's game are available at riverkings.com/ticketmaster or for specialty themed ticket packages visit groupmatics.events/s/other/Promooffers2.
