SOUTHAVEN, Miss.- The Mississippi RiverKings are proud to announce the promotion of David Schmoll to General Manager. Schmoll, who is in his sixth season with the RiverKings, moves up from his position as Director of Business Operations to take on his new role.

President of the RiverKings Robin Hurdle said, "David came to us in 2009 as an unpaid intern and since then has worked his way up the ladder within the organization. His dedication, determination and hard work have earned him this promotion."

With David's guidance since 2012, the RiverKings have seen over a 57% increase in regular season turn style attendance, including the highest attendance in the team's SPHL-era in 2015-2016.

"I cannot thank Robin Hurdle and everyone at Maddox Foundation for the opportunity to grow within the organization that I began with as an intern," said David, "Our objectives going forward are the ones we have focused on over the past three years: to serve our Memphis-area community, grow our fanbase throughout the Mid-South and bring a home a championship to the Landers Center."

Schmoll, 27, joined the RiverKings originally in 2009 as a game ops intern before rejoining the team in 2011 as the team's Broadcaster and Media Relations coordinator. He has also spent time with the St. Louis Blues, the Indiana Ice of the United States Hockey League in the media relations and hockey operations departments and WKMS as a reporter.

David is a graduate of Murray State University where he received his degree in Political Science. When he's not at the rink, David is part of the Board of Directors of the Horn Lake Chamber of Commerce and coaches' youth baseball and football. He is an avid supporter of his hometown St. Louis Blues and Cardinals, and the Murray State Racers.

The RiverKings return to the Landers Center on Friday, October 21 to take on the Evansville Thunderbolts at 7:30 p.m. Groups of 10 or more purchasing before October 14 receive free tickets to a future game. For more information, call the RiverKings at 662-342-1755 or visit riverkings.com.
